Valuation Services Determining the true value of a business requires a careful analysis of two primary components that make up value: tangible assets such as real estate, machinery and furniture used by the business and various intangible assets such as the business goodwill. Valuing the intangible portion of the business is where one needs the services of a qualified business valuation professional. Determining the intangible value requires a careful analysis of many aspects of a business enterprise and requires skills acquired through specialized training and experience. Our business valuation department includes individuals who are Certified Valuation Analysts (CVA). A CVA has demonstrated that he/she is qualified to provide capable and professionally executed valuation services through training and rigorous testing provided by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Users of valuation services performed by a CVA benefit by having greater confidence that the service they receive is professional in quality, adheres to industry standards of practice, and meets a level of expertise that NACVA deems credible and worthy of one of its certified members. Business valuations are often used as a management tool. A properly prepared business valuation provides management with insightful information that helps identify company strengths and weaknesses that affect value, allowing management to more effectively focus their energies in places that really count. A business valuation, prepared periodically, also serves as a measurement tool that helps owners assess overall success and management effectiveness.
